How It Works

A very fine, sterile probe (thinner than the hair itself) is gently inserted into the natural opening of the hair follicle alongside the hair shaft — it does not pierce the skin. A small amount of electrical current is then applied to permanently damage the follicle's growth cells, preventing future hair growth. The treated hair is then removed with tweezers. Before Your First Session

• Let hair grow for 2–3 days before treatment (we need to see the hair to treat the follicle)
• Avoid waxing, plucking, or threading for 2 weeks prior (these remove the hair we need to treat)
• Arrive with clean skin — no makeup, lotions, or oils on treatment area
• Avoid sun exposure to the area for 24 hours before treatment
• Stay hydrated — well-hydrated skin responds better to treatment

During Your Treatment

You'll feel a brief tingling, heat, or pinching sensation as the electrical current is applied to each follicle. Sensitivity varies by individual and body area — some describe it as very tolerable, others find it more uncomfortable, particularly in sensitive areas like the upper lip or bikini line. Most clients find the discomfort manageable and well worth the permanent results.

After Your Treatment

Immediately after treatment, the area may be slightly red with small bumps around each treated follicle — this is normal and typically fades within a few hours to 24 hours.

Aftercare Requirements

• Avoid touching or scratching the treated area for 24 hours
• No makeup on the area for 24 hours (facial treatments)
• Avoid sun exposure for 24–48 hours, then use SPF 30+
• No swimming, saunas, or hot tubs for 24–48 hours
• Don't pluck or wax regrowth — only shaving is allowed
• Apply soothing aloe vera or prescribed aftercare cream as needed

Number of Sessions

Electrolysis requires 15–30+ sessions for most areas. This varies based on hair density, hair type, treatment area size, hormonal factors, and previous hair removal methods.

Session Spacing

Sessions are typically spaced 1–4 weeks apart. Facial hair often requires more frequent sessions (weekly or bi-weekly), while body hair can be treated every 3–4 weeks. Regular, consistent appointments produce the best results.
